Default podbotmenu - 02-09-2004

I'm using podbot_mm together with another podbot clone (poxbot), and since both of them use the word podbotmenu to call the menu, i can't use poxbot with podbot_mm.
It simply adds a normal podbot instead of a podbod when i press the menu key...

Is there any way that i can solve this problem, and add both bots at the same time?

Afaik the only solution is to make one of the bot's call soemthing else than podbotmenu, but since poxbot isn't developed any more, it's not gonna happen there. Is there any way to get around this problem, or could podbot_mm be made to call something else than podbotmenu? - just to make it compatible with the older podbotclones...

Why exactly we have to change this? I don't know exactly why do You need use both bots (and additionally clones of the same one...). Who did say they should be compatible between them-self?

I can see now that my post wasn't as clear as i wanted it to be... so here's a summary:

I can't add poxbots to a game as long as podbot_mm is loaded with metamod.

When i add a bot, no matter what menu I add it with, a podbot_mm will be added instead of the poxbod i wanted to add.

I want to play against two different bots because I think it improves the game, because the different bot's tend to react differently... it's more fun that way...

But as long as the bots don't work together, then it's not really possible to take advantage of that possibillity.

So my question is: Is there any wayI can change the name of the podbotmenu? - to podbot_mmmenu perhaps?

I understood good Your first post, but If You really want to have fun with different behavior's bots - try to mix rather podbot with realbot or joebot. It's my opinion.

Yeah. Use from console:

addbot

for poxbot and :

pb addbot

for podbot. It should solve a bit your problem.

You can open the POXBot dll file with a hex editor (like UltraEdit) and change the string "podbotmenu" to "poxbotmenu"

Thx! I'll give it a try

KWo, i now it would be more reasonable to use podbot together with realbot and joebot, but as far as i know, Joebot wont work together with the other bots, at least not on my computer. It works fine with realbot, but if i add joebot and a podbot clone, the game will crash :/

I don't think that would work... As far as i can see, mean mod only supports two bots a at time... but the readme is outdated, so it might have changed. I've made a topic asking about it.

I doesn't seem to work when i change podbotmenu to poxbotmenu with a hexeditor... but maybe I'm just doing it wrong. Fortunately the other advice about pb addbot and addbot works fine
