Default SDK Tutorial - 07-12-2010

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum and I'm new to the HL SDK. I want to write a small plugin in C++ that interacts with the language Python to write scripts, just like Mattie's EventScripts.

I want to do this because Python is a very simple and fast (in speed and learning) language, and there will be no need to know how the SDK itself works, you will just need to know how Python works.

But first of all, I never wrote a HL 1 Plugin, so I'll need some tutorials. Are there some out there? Or can you provide one? Maybe first just some small things like sending a chat message? - That would actually help me a lot.

Oh, and - I looked into the AMXMODX Source, but it didn't help me, since it's (for me) too complicated to understand...

Anyway, thanks for any answers!

We have a wiki page with such information:
http://wiki.bots-united.com/
The user name and password are displayed on the login prompt( it is just simple trick against spam bots ).

Also I think that Pawn, the scripting language that AmxModX is using is much easier than Python. I don't want to discourage you but I think there is no point to reinvent the hot water especially for a engine that is more than 10 years old. All that is my personal opinion.

Best of luck!
