I think mapping is fine.
We don't have many mappers posting here anyway, so why not?
Some custom map sites:
Counter-Server Maps
(Maps can be sorted by type, rating, popularity etc...) Reviews are shitty, though. Most site reviewers give top marks for every new map, and guests write stupid shit and abuse the rating system for jokes and childish nonsense.
LanmaniaX
Features maps for various HL mods, mostly CS, TS and DoD, but also HLDM once in a while. No reviews, but screenies of all maps. Check the "pimpage" site to see all hosted maps. Note: Not all of the maps hosted there are downloadable. For some maps, only screenshots exist so far. Others are in beta or prerelease stage. Very up-to-date, though, and top site. Belongs to my normal daily internet stroll. It also has a forum...
CSbanana mapping forum
Not that much activity, but once in a while a really decent map is posted there. This site is where I got de_nazca2 before it was released anywhere else.
Clan[00] custom map archive
German site, but you'll find what you need... doesn't have
that many reviews, and if you don't understand German, you won't be able to go into detail... still, the resulting marks for a map will be readable in any case. Their map archive is one of the best custom map download sources on the net, especially if you look for older maps.
This should be a start, I guess... glad to see people supporting custom maps, btw!
