Default A Bug in Most Bots(?) - 24-05-2004

I'm not pretty sure if this is causd by the bot engin. It might be a player-tracking problem of AMX. OK, here is what happens:
Quote:
You start a server with AMX(X) enabled. Add some bots, then kick a bot. Now, most features(sound, say commands, some console commands) of AMX would be disabled on anyone who joins the server after that bot leaves.
This will for sure to happen when a bot leaves the server. If a real player is kicked or leaves, it would be ok. It happens on most(or maybe all, I haven't tested all of them) bots - HPB, Real, POD...
I personally like to use PODBot. However, since PODBot automatically adds and kicks bots as real players join and leave, I had no choice and forced to choose RealBot. But I dare not to kick any bot on the server.
Just want to see some replies to confirm what has caused this problem. If its caused by bot, is it possible to be fixed?
Any information would be appreciated.

first...
if you think this bug happens for a bunch of bots why post it specificly in the podbot forums?

second...
Maybe this is it..
I have noticed that when I use AMX sometimes when I rejoin the server or something it doesn't show me welcome message and it doesn't give me admin access..

third...
you can stop bots from auto joining and auto leaving by setting maxbots and minbots to Zero

humm... I should have started this somewhere else... but maybe I like PODBot much more than others...

That's exactly the problem I'm talking about.

That will ONLY work on listen server. If you try to add bot on a dedicated server, the message return is "
Max Bots reached, can't create Bot !"

has nothing to do with listen or dedicated...
I never tried setting min/maxbot to zero and now I know you can't add bots after you set maxbots to zero
I guess we need a cvar to turn autojoining on and off..

k sPlOrYgOn, I just cant wait for your next release. I added two cvars autokick and autojoin myself and theyr working fine.

But I still dare not to kick any bot since that disables lots of amx features. So could you please just guess what causes the problem? amx or bot? I want to try to figure it out but need some suggestions. Thank you.

oh, i switched back to pb . rb takes too much cpu and lags most of my clients.

actually I'm thinking of not adding a new cvar..
instead just make it so tha when you set max/min_bots to -1 not kick or join..
it seems part of this is already done for me, so I'll just finish it up.

[edit]
and for now I think you can just set max/min_bots to the number of bots you want and it shouldn't kick or add when people leave or join..
I haven't tested this but I looks like it should work.
[/edit]
