Realbot 1.6 Installation Instructions

Plugins should read:
win32 Your Drive:\Steam\SteamApps\your email\counter-strike\realbot\dll\realbot_mm.dll press TAB here between .dll and "realbot" RealBot

Or the equivalent Linux path. The reason I do not use the ../ is because giving the exact directory is exact, and does not require you to post questions saying "well my path is [wierd screwed up path], how do I get it to work"...
A) If you follow that directory structure, the path will always be Counter-strike/realbot/ and Metamod will always be in Counter-strike/cstrike/addons


Why did I put Metamod in the CStrike DIR?

I found that without editing liblist.gam I could run metamod and realbot!

So, what I did was I used the STANDARD LIBLIST.

Standard (Unedited) Liblist.gam procedure:
1) Open up the Steam "Games" window.
2) Right click "Counter-Strike" and "Create desktop shortcut"
3) Right click the "Counter-Strike" shortcut on your desktop, and go to "Properties"
4) I added "-dll addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll" without quotes to the end of the Target path. It should be after the "-applaunch 10"


Now, as long as your realbot and metamod are put in those directories, then it will work.

Does this work on dedicated servers as well? And if it does, do you just have to have admin on the srver to have bots on it?

for dedicated servers, it works, you need to install it into the steam 'dedicated server' directory instead of 'counter-strike'. The other instructions remain the same.

you must be admin, or have admin access ie via rcon to add bots then.

Relating to the picture up top and My Computer, up to SteamApps/Email/Counter-Strike/CStrike I don't have an Addons folder. This is same with (which are under the Addons folder) the Metamod folder and the dlls (I have a dlls folder, but its located in ...Counter-Strike/CStrike/dlls *** Note, still no Addons folder in CStrike)

Once I download the proper material, would it automatically make those folders? Or should I make them myself?

Alright, screw my old post. ^^^ It looks like RealBot is with Counter-Strike on your picture, but you said in your post that RealBot would always be in Counter-Strike (counter-strike\RealBot), so which is the right one?

Above you said press tab between .dll and realbot. So it should look like this?

I do not understand where you find the "Plugins" folder...I have tried and read numerous guides to get realbot to work, but to no avail. Can someone please explain this process to me? I have installed Realbot 1.0, I have extracted the WIP 9, I have installed Metamod (I think, I'm not too sure of how the process works)...I have read FAQs, and followed their steps, but it is just not working...

I'm running hlds cstrike steam 1.6 with amxmodx and metamod(latest version) on server 2003. I took the plugin and scripting files and tried to compile this for amxmodx .20 rc6, but with the changes since amx the directory structure is different. I looked through the .sma file and found one place which refers to directory structure and changed it to match my directory structure, but I still am receiving this error:


WARNING: RealBot is NOT installed into the correct directory!
WARNING: rbnbx files will not be created nor personality files!

What else should I change? Somewhere there is a notation pointing to the old directory structure, I just don't know where.
