Default E[POD]bot v5.2 Installation - 11-07-2006

Hello, i need help installing this bot because it says it will install in the "Sierra" folder, when Counter-strike and such are in the "Steam" folder. Has anyone done this or knows how to install so they can help please? Thanks... oh, and do you need metamod to use AMX ModX? where do i get it? And also, is POD-bot mm better then E[POD]?

If I'm right then all you need to speciefy is the directory ,Steam,Sierra,Half-life, whatever
and make sure that the liblist.gam file is configured correctly so that it points to the bot dll.
For more info ask the author , see cyborg forum!

Yeah, everything has changed round since the steam revolution.

It's been a while since I played around with anything steam related, but IIRC you just need to replace 'sierra' with 'steamapps'. The install should work properley then. It might be worth checking you have an up-to-date version of the bot, though. Most, if not all of the HL engine bots have been patched and re-packaged to account for steam now.

Yes, you will need metamod for amxmodx, and as for pod-botmm vs epodbot - their just different. everyone has his (or her) own preference.

+Edit: Looking at the website, it looks like the E[pod]bot team got mixed up somewhere. You appear to have the latest version of the installer, but it could be configured for a strange setup.

if it doesn't work when you point it at steam/steamapps, point it at a new folder on the desktop (rightclick the desktop, select new>folder), then once it's finished, open up the folder, and copy and paste the contents over the originals. Nothing will be damaged, and everything will end up where it should.

I.E. if you open up the folder, and get another folder called 'cs' or similar, copy and paste it into you steamapps folder.

Click 'yes' to overwrite existing files if it asks.

There is forum for E[POD]bot. Anyway just point to the installer your main counter-strike dir.
Example:
C:\Steam\Steamapps\Account_name\counter-strike\
