Default Unnofficial Foxbot update and a question. - 12-05-2009

Hello all.
I'm not a member of the original Foxbot team but I've been working on the Foxbot source code and area/waypoint files and thought that maybe other
people would like to download the results of my efforts.

Some of the changes:

- The bots change class when they die too often. They also pick classes based on what offense/defense role they are playing.

- They try to avoid running over grenades that are visible in front of them.

- HW Guys no longer crave rocket ammo when guarding a defend point.

- Demomen and attackers are more likely to go for health/armour when injured enough.

- Snipers avoid sharing a snipe point.

- Waypoint/area tweaks for most of the base maps(e.g. Medics can concussion jump onto the roof of Building 1 on Hunted).

- Spies disguise as enemy spies too. Not sure this is a good idea, it's
something I used to do when online.

A question I wanted to ask is: what sort of sites might be good to send my updated copy of Foxbot to?
I've submitted it to Stixsworld's Download Archive(not sure I sent it through properly).
I couldn't find a submissions page for Fileplanet.
The main problem is that I have no home Internet connection and am paying for hourly usage at an Internet cafe,
so it's harder to surf for hours looking for good sites to upload to.
Cheers, Zybby.

If the file is under 50 MB, you can register at CFEGames.com and upload it there.
Or if you want, you can send it to me in an email and I'll add it to the CFEGames download section.
jeremy@cfegames.com

I'm sure Whistler or KWo or some one can add it to the Bots-United filebase.

I've e-mailed you a copy Jeremy.
Stixsmaster has also put up a copy at his site, Stixsworld.
Thanks for the help.

I can provide the modified source code too if anyone wants a copy.

At the moment I'm trying to rewrite the source code, organise it some more.
I've got all sorts of ideas on where to go with development, but it often takes a while sorting out basic issues.
For example I tried getting the bots to use the push-button lifts on Crossover2 and they kept walking out the top doors as if constipated.
Love TFC, love the site.
Thanks again.
Zybby.

Hi again.
Just thought I'd add a little resolution to this thread.
The Foxbot_remix name shouldn't be necessary anymore.
Dr.Evil has put up a Foxbot forum over at www.omni-bot.de
and Foxbot_remix has transmogrified(great word!) into Foxbot 0.710
there.
:-)
