Default PODBot MM Docs Beta 2 - 17-09-2004

okay here's a new clean thread where everything will be for this topic.

1)Docs will be in file base once i can get it there and a copy of it is at

http://www.geocities.com/scarletspid...ODBot/docs.zip

2)Compatibilty: i have made sure that all the latest browsers
are fully supportedand compatible, but if u find any problems plz tell me

the browser name and version
the problem you have

3)Colours: This will not be the default doc colours, The docs use stylesheets if u remove the file podbot.css you will see the docs without any formating (good for printing but a print verison of the stylesheet will be made so dont fret)
stylesheets can be made easily, so if u know somewhat of css then i urge you to go ahead and make some nice ones

docs will also change on where styles are applied so if ppl do start making ssheets i will tell you where what was changed to help u

4)Intro, General, Podbot MM, are main unfinished sections most of the other are finished but may have errors

Heyyo,

GJ on the readme's, very indepth man!

But I do have 2 errors to report... I'm using IE, and it's version 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633... so basically IE 6, with SP1.

The prob is the notepad pic won't appear, under General Info, I checked the path for it, n' it's looking for it under:

file:///C:/Documents/Images/Notepad.jpg

n' for the waypointing tutorial for PODbot v1.0 - v2.6 doing the same thing, here's an example of the 1st pic:

file:///C:/Documents/Images/con1_2w.jpg

so luckly it's just a small fix.

ahh yes i was wondering coz in firefox notepad pic didnt show either so i was looking at the 1st pic of podbot v1-2.6 to see what was wrong :o

lol they were both wrong

thnx for findng that.

i also know that in podbot v1.0-2.6 the dedictedserver commands should bbe "bot" and not "pb"

can somone confirm if it was "bot" or something else

ps: the undone sections are yet to go deeper

Heyyo,

For the hacked PODbot v2.5 dll? it also starts with pb. Otherwise, I don't think PODbot had dedicated server commands... maybe with meanmod, or something else it did...

Now all listenserver and dedicated server commands are started with prefix "pb" without quotes. Examples:

pb addbot 100 2 2 2 "James Bond"

these quotes You need only add when You want to use a space char in bot's name.

pb min_bots 3
pb botchat off

Only in podbot.cfg file all commands are without prefix "pb".
I hope this can help You a bit

so pbMM has "pb" for console commands and nothing for config comands

what about the unhacked version of pb 2.5? coz in cf"s docs he said it uses "bot"

Heyyo,

Hmm, I just checked my copy of CF's readme.html, n' it shows that it's also "pb"... but I remember before people saying that you needed the hacked podbot dll to do console commands... I just tried doing a DS on my computer to test, but it wouldn't load cause it was missing "steam_01111.dll"... my copy of CS 1.5 is messed up. Anywho, here's the quote from my PODbot v2.5 manual:

Quote:

Install POD-Bot as described above and create a game the way you normally would.
When running a dedicated server the POD-Bot commands that are normally
available in the client console are disabled. To create a bot you
must set the CVAR "pb" to the command you desire.. To use the "pb" CVAR you
would use one of the following commands on the dedicated server command line...

pb "addbot"
pb "addbot 100 5"
pb "addbot 20 1 DumbAss"

In addition these commands are supported:
pb "fillserver 5" (Fills server with auto-assigned Bots)
pb "fillserver 1" (Fills server with Terrorist Bots)
pb "fillserver 2" (Fills server with Counter Bots)
pb "removebots" (Disconnects all Bots from the Game)
pb "killbots" (Kills all Bots in the current round)
pb "newmap mapname" (Changes the Map)

When using the dedicated server, bot will also be automatically spawned using
the podbot.cfg file. You can also use the min_bots/max_bots settings or the
addbot command explained in that file.
