Ok here is the idea:

I got bots just to fill the server and keep it almost full in early morning hours, but people seem not to like bots. I have custom nicks, bots do not chat, only play, but they are recognised because they have no ping on scoreboard.

So can bots have some random ping shown in scoreboard that varies every 10 seconds from 20-40 ???

No. It was discussed few times here and at General Bot Coding forum (it's also at bots-united), and we didn't find the way to do this. It would need to hack the memory, which - after some steam update it could stop working (even with crashing the game).

I think it has to be possible somehow using amxx. For example to remove "BOT" in scorebar use:
"set_user_info(bot_index, "*bot", "0");"

to switch back to "BOT":
"set_user_info(bot_index, "*bot", "1");"

Even if they could have ping, people still recognize bots.

Even if You remove "BOT" from the scoreboards, You still cannot place there anything else as a ping, so the people still know there are some bots on the server...

I'm talking globali - I'm 90% sure there is a way using "messages". What i so with them obout scorebar view (not changing real data) is:

CT player in T/Spec scorebar (& other ways).
Frags/deaths.
Names.
VIP not beeing a VIP + all teams (only if alive).
BOMB not having C4 + all teams (only if alive).
DEAD when you are alive.
Changing any team score (including Spectators).
Removing "BOT" status from bot.

Dunno how, but it has to be possible to change ping view, cuz evrything other is.

It's not because the ping is not mod side, it is engine side and you really can't mess around with the ping data(unless some memory hack) witch is not good solution as KWo pointed. It's easy to say there is a way, the hard part is to make it.

Since that program is a hack, wouldn't it make you vulnerable to VAC?

podbot V 3.0 metamod Build 20 files to change when set bot latency 1 instead of having
"BOT" can i put a number there instead like "150"
can you please tell whitch files to edit????.

hay guys read the bottom of steam news about this bot ping issue.
http://store.steampowered.com/news/3308/

.Tuned scoreboard logic to guard against malicious server operators spoofing bot pings to hide the "BOT" tag ??????????.
we just wont the bots to have a ping thats all nothing else.
