Post How to install E[POD]Bot correctly... - 16-04-2006

EDIT BY THE_STORM: This work but its not usefull. So don't use it.

The instructions below are on how to install E[POD]Bot for Counter-Strike 1.6 - Steam.

* Note: Please make sure you remove previous bot files, as it may cause confusion.
  1. Download E[POD]Bot
    Wind - http://filebase.bots-united.com/index.php?action=file&id=365

    Linux - http://filebase.bots-united.com/index.php?action=file&id=366

  2. When in setup, make sure the destination is set to your desktop (or somewhere other than the cstrike folder).
    e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\Nerd\Desktop\EBOT

  3. Open the folder you just installed the files to and open your cstrike folder (usually C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\youremail\counter-strike\cstrike) and keep them ready.

  4. Go into your E[POD]Bot folder and open the cstrike folder. Firstly, simply drag the folder named 'EPODbot' into Steam's cstrike folder and leave it there. Secondly, drag the liblist.gam file into Steam's cstrike folder and overwrite it (it isn't that important as Steam will create a fresh one if there is none present).

  5. Right click on liblist.gam, in the cstrike folder, and click Properties. Check that Read-only is ticked and press Apply then OK. This is to make sure that Steam cannot overwrite the file and alter any lines in the file.

  6. Run Steam and go into Games. Right click on Counter-Strike and click Properties. Go into 'Set launch options' and enter the following text:
'-dll EPODbot\EPB.dll' - without the quotes - then press OK.

  7. (Optional) If you want the Counter-Strike icon on your desktop, right click on the Counter-Strike icon in Games and click 'Create shortcut icon.' Go onto the desktop and right click on the new Counter-Strike shortcut icon and go into Properties. Make sure the 'Target:' line reads:
    "C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 10 -dll EPODbot\EPB.dll

  8. Run Counter-Strike and start your new game. There you have it, your new E[POD]Bot's running around with you. For the menu, press the '=' button on your keyboard.
Thank you for reading this thread and I hope you found that this way worked.

This is not the right way!
Just download EPB from the topic latest version of EPB and run the installer.
Now select your \counter-strike\ dir(not \cstrike\).
Usually C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\youremail\counter-strike
Thats all. I don't understand why all this is needed nerd.
