hello all. i was searching the internet trying to find a community of developers who code with metamod and i'm very happy to know this place exists!

i've written a few amx plugins, am strong in php, c#, and i know just enough c++ to be dangerous.

i want to start seeing what i can do with metamod, but i'm a little unclear how this all ties in with the HLSDK.

i have the SDK and metamod source here, and all i want to do is compile the stub_plugin as it is said to be just the base that a plugin needs.

here are my questions:
1. can i use visual studio.net to work with this?

2. i opened the project and tried compilling. when i try compilling it, i get errors saying that extdll.h doesn't exist. i then added the extdll.h file from the sdk to the project, and then i get an error on the same file saying 'no such file or directory'

can anyone give me a couple tips to get me on track here?

please exuse my n00bness in this area. thanks.

1. Yes, Visual Studio .NET will work. I use it myself and it works great.

2. In your options you must set up the include directories for the following folders in your hl sdk directory...

engine
common
dlls
pm_shared
and finally your metamod folder ( the one that contains meta_api.h )

There are a few other things...
I suggest only browsing over the default plugins, most of the stub plugin is bloated and can be trimmed to one source file.

I've got some of them which you can have a look at, check them out at http://racc.bots-united.com, downloads section (they all come with source code)
