This forum will someday end in one big legal battle... I can sense it!

I agree with MarD btw... almost everybody mentioning that bot has written that it was illegal, and in that case I couldn't imagine talking about it would hurt.

But I'm looking forward to a 'real' bot for CS:S

Kwo, you somehow make my words turn into 'legalizing' this whole situation.

No, we gave him the info he requested, and that was if there where bots for CSS (officialy, or better ones!)... as stated in post nr 1. We gave him the info (answer) and that did not encourage illegal activities.

Until you stop reading what you want to read, i suggest we stop this pointless discussion (again).

"Server dll can be patched. AS i did (do!) with realbot with the liblist.gam in CS 1.6 (which gets overwritten as well, each time)... you simply make it read-only!"

...but the HL2 doesn't have liblist.gam item to change the name of server dll.
also in both HL2 and Cs 1.6 you can't use a modified version of dlls\mp.dll or bin\server.dll unless you are using a non-steam version.

edit
the game dll case is different from liblist.gam. I just tried it in CS 1.6 Steam, and even if I set it to read-only it's still restored.
but I'm not sure if using NTFS feature in Windows NT Series will work

Guys, not supporting illegal activities means not supporting them.

KWo is right to point it out, but he's mistaken about the problem.
Stefan is technically right, however he's dead wrong to post it here.
Such things CANNOT be said in public.

Please always care about the difference between what is public and what is not (especially council members).

If people want information about use or acquisition of illegal software, they gotta seek any damn where else, but not on Bots United. Roger?

Is exactly what I meant and what yestarday I've explained at priva to Aspirin (ICQ) and to Stefan (PM). Another thing is this what Whistler wrote:

I have to admit I've got confused by this, because if I change the liblist.gam to call bot.dll or to call metamod.dll I "don't use it in Valve's desired way". Is this all work here and this forum illegal then? ???
No. Whistler informed me - Valve had nothing against bots since botman asked them about it before starting work on HPB Bot and since "as doing bots doesn't prevent Valve from earning any $$$ (instead it does help to promote their software)".
So maybe enabling bots in CSS isn't illegal then? I guess we should ask Nova to clarify this. 9_9

yes, i understand. The second thing Kwo said (as from Whistlers comment) actually made me ponder why we even exist
