I've never played War3FT, but "invisible players" sounds like some cheating (the same like let see them ) .

No. Make a picture (with good light scene) with this "not full invisible". You would like bot sometimes will see You and sometimes don't see You (if You are "not full invisible" - in both cases)?

That could be implemented in the bot code. I suppose the players are given a renderfx amount that makes them "translucent". Perhaps a smart combination of different parameters (illumination, distance, translucency, movement of the POV) would tell the bot if a player is "visible" or not.
