Thats fantastic! So afterall they might be that much in the pocket of the lobbies and big companies as some feared?

I am quite surprised to see how many there voted against it, 614 vs. 14 is really cool

I've read up a bit on it. Everybody ended up voting no, because there were too many contradictory opinions, and it was decided to reject it instead of having series of later amendments that would compromise the spirit of the text. But initially, half the voters were rather pro than con.

Let's see now if they don't try to sneak a similar law around while we're not watching them

Of course they would be pro, but as pmb said, they don't want to end up stuck with actual work to do.

Wish I was an EU representative with a ticket to retirement on the gravy train...
