Default Memory upgrade? :( RDRAM? - 21-01-2007

Hi guys, long time no chat.

I want to slap some more ram in my PC, an old dell dimension 8200 desktop circa winter 2000/1.

I think it has RDram in it, but I don't know the "bus" speed and other fangled info. I don't want to get something that isn't compatable, so advice would be really welcome.

The worst thing is, I'm sure I used to know all this stuff...

Ok. It is RDramm, 400mhz clock rate. (2*256 "RIMM" modules). However, under Memory bus properties, by real clock it says (DDR) - is this not a different type of Ram? [I think it may just mean it works like t, i.e it is 2*SDRam capabilities or whatever makes the stuff special]

It is PC800, 16 bit and I presume 184pin "RIMM" "form factor". Does any ram I get need to be "Rimm" organised, and/or 16bit? DOes ram conflict? which module is used firts if a new one is added? AAaaah!?
