Default forgetful bots - 06-11-2006

this isn't a too big of a problem, but bots sometimes forget that they are in a fight. This happens 3 times out of 10 times, where they forget they are in a fight while in a fight. Like, they are fighting, then one bot goes out of view, and the other bot forgets immediately that they fought and that there is an enemy, and act as if there is no enemy when the other bot just clearly went out of sight.

again, this doesn't happen all the time, as bots for some reason, always track me. Whenever they know I'm somewhere, they stay there waiting for me to come out (i'm not saying this is bad).

but, maybe you could fix the fact that they sometimes forget they are in a fight?

do you get what i'm saying?

Maybe these bots they "forget" their enemies they are just deffensive ones? Maybe only aggressive ones keep continuing hunt the enemy? Can You try it and describe it later to make me sure there is really something wrong?

Well I don't really understand what you mean by fights like? Knife fights? Because when I get a certain length away from the bot they pull out a gun and start shooting me and sometimes they do hunt, but if I get far enough away and they see another enemy, the focus on the other enemy; It just seems like one of those things. I don't really do any knife fighting with bots

Yeah - if the enemy is too far away th ebot forgets such enemy (more than 1600 units - except AWP). Also if there is some enemy closer to the bot - the bot is focusing on it. Also if the bot cannot see the enemy anymore - it checks sounds and then it choose the most loudest one.

by fights i mean like when bots see each other and start fighting

btw, good job on build 16. i'm still trying to correct the bot weapons problems i have. I remember changing the bot weapon files, but i should double check, and change them for epb too.

for the forgetting thing, one example is on de_dust2, near bomb B. one CT was outside the area and saw a terrorist in that little hole on the wall, they fought, the terrorist retreated back into the bomb spot B and went out of sight. then the CT bot immediately turned around and started camping in another direction, looking somewhere else.
