Ok, since there's been no reply from moboerotica today, I'm speeding up things a little and moving the thread to where it belongs.
mobo, I know you were trying to use Podbot mm when this plugin problem occurred to you - nonetheless, next time please bear in mind that in the end, you are having problems configuring
metamod and
metamod plugins... and this doesn't go into the general
PODBot forum. Remember that the more metamod-experienced people see your thread, the higher are the chances someone will know your problem and help you out. And you're just more likely to find metamod experts in the metamod forum than here, ok?
Now back to topic:
I presume that you have metamod itself and PODBot mm running already and want to know how to add other plugins, right?
If this is the case, here's what you need to do:
1) If you want to add a plugin, you DON'T need to recompile metamod!
2) Install/Unzip the plugin into a metamod sub-directory. Let's say you d/l a plugin called "example". Unzip it into cstrike/addons/metamod/example.
3) Now if you want to get this plugin to be loaded, you must find its dll. It will be called "example_mm.dll" usually, and you will find it in the "example" directory. If it's not there, it might hide in a sub-directory like "cstrike/addons/metamod/example/dll/" or something.
4) Once you know where the dll is, go to your metamod directory (cstrike/addons/metamod) and open the file "plugins.ini" with Notepad.
5) Enter the path to the dll, starting in the cstrike directory - like this:
win32 addons\metamod\example\example_mm.dll (for a windows PC)
or this:
linux addons\metamod\example\example_mm.i386.so (for Linux)
Don't overwrite existing lines.
6) Save your plugins.ini, fire up CS, start a game, open the console and enter "meta list". This will bring up a list of all plugins metamod has loaded. Does your new plugin appear? Fine, then it should work. If not, you screwed up somewhere...
NOTE 1: Add plugins one by one, never 5 at a time! If you get problems, you will immediately know which plugins caused them.
NOTE 2: If you have a plugin that seems to cause bugs with PODBot mm, try loading that plugin before the bot plugin. You can do that by opening metamod's plugins.ini and putting the lines in the order in which you want to load the plugins. The topmost line in plugins.ini will be executed first, the bottom line last.
Hope this has been a tiny bit of help...
