Default A readme to help the n00bs. (AMXX with EPB) - 27-11-2005

You guys are providing a great service, but to be honest, your documentaion sucks. Here is what I did to get pod bot and amxx to work. I spent a couple of hours reading almost every post to figure this out.

1) download steam standalone server( i also got it to work on the dedicated server, but too many lag spikes)
2)ran and installed that. See steam for more.
3)downloaded and installed amx modx(amxx). I like it better than amx. It does most of the work for you.
http://www.amxmodx.org/
4)downloaded and ran the epodbot installer. that was easy.
5) open up plugins.ini in your metamod folder and add
Quote:
win32 epodbot\epb.dll
6)save and boot up the server. in the console (server side) type in
Quote:
epb addbot
on a client side you gotta do
Quote:
rcon_password yourRconPass
epb addbot
there might be a delay, for me there wasnt.

That should work. Ifo you guys want Ill write a better manual. a sexy one with pics.

Hope this works.

Heyyo,

Yeah, the EPBFAQ provided with EPB is from back in the day when LN was the bot coder.. we really do need to update it eh? I'll see if I can get around to it someday.

[EDIT]
Oh hey, if you wanna write a manual man? be my guest, I'd be cool to have an updated one, one people could read.

I downloaded the latest POD bots for CS and I ran the installer, but now I am stuck. I have no clue what to do, and how to add the bots into anything. Please help me!

If you have installed them correct just type
epb_addbot

Heyyo,

You need to enable the console by going options > keyboard > advanced > enable console

and then hit your tilda (~) key and type in the epb_addbot there.

If it doesn't work? you installed the bot wrong and are probably using steam, so you have to set it to where you have steam installed.

Lol MarD that's how you enable the console in Source You can't do it that way in CS 1.6, it's already on anyway.

Heyyo,

Yeah, the command list stickied says it's supposed to be "epb_addbot" (without quotations), but that only works for ListenServers, not DedicatedServers. For DedicatedServers it's still setup so that "epb addbot" (without quotations also) adds in bots.

Also, Taiki, if you're still around, we'd love a good manual with pics. If ya can't do it np I'll write one up.
