something more fun and use a existing "tool". i gladly create my own title like i could in the old RB community..
just having member is kinda boring.. all it says is member or concile member..

My call too... anyway, it doesn't prevent me to sleep at night. Perhaps just allowing everybody to change its user title to a custom phrase (like a short signature) would be another idea, but then although if the "fun" clause would be met we're completely out of the "member rank" scope.
