Thumbs up New Beta MML_Church_et_v1 Available for comment - 10-09-2006

So the Bindlestiff beat me by a few minutes...
Well anyway I figured another map was wanting so I've put some serious testing time on this short map to bring it up for a proper beta.
Waypoints are available here.

Map is available many places including those listed in my site.

Highlights
This is a basic steal and deliver map inside a nice cathederal by zero gerbil.
Allies defend the Relic/Organ room and Altar against the attacking Axis . Cvops make good use of upper walkways and rafters for sniping. Script changes add one forward spawn pad when the alarm is on to help the allies recover the relic. Axis be warned the allies have wired the relic to the alarm!.
The bots play on all 4 levels of the map (plus sewers) with a reasonable "fell to their death" average of only 6 per game. Team balance testing by campaign cvars method is reasonable but I will try to improve it. The small bot file allows it to play well on older machines, and allows for you to add more bots to taste. Bot stickies are minimal and soft, and I am trying to see if they can be wholely eliminated. Sewers were fully tested and I will try to get them used again for the release version (must be the smell).

All comments and feedback welcome.

OK Frank the beta 0.03 waypoints are attached.
Don't forget to place the file in \fritzbot and rename it from .zip to .pk3.

P.S. I may delete the attachment when the waypoints are released as 1.00 say early October.

Tom, excellent work on the waypoint. I had a problem when testing this on local host. copied the wp pk3 to fritzbot folder and then fire up the map but when using command-/addbot , it says no path file available. does that mean you have to incorperate the wp pk3 into the original fritz.pk3 ??

thanks!

Haha, after embedding the wp pk3 into the fritz.pk3, it works good.

didn't want to compromise the integrity of original fritz.pk3 though.. but oh well...at least we can play ;p

setting up my server now...

thanks again for the wp.. keep up the good work!

Embarrassed Re: New Beta MML_Church_et_v1 Available for comment - 20-12-2006

the only thing different is the subdirectories inside the zip are in uppercase. I have seen this happen before in software development when switching between different tools and operating systems (I must have only tested in Win98 I guess). I updated the file on my site.
Here is the link to the updated-same file with lowercase subdirectories (united-bots is throwing errors when I try to attach it)

(and have corrected any of the more recent files on my website jic)

OK finally got back to cleanup and update the beta for Release (0.99). Bots will use the sewers better and can turn on/off the alarm (unintelligently). S.O. balance is very good in tests and about 8 bots will do the high dive per map. I reduced the number of cvops snipers to give Humans a chance.
Map is suitable for small teams (SO or campaigns), stopwatch and as a warmup map.
