Default Server Rotation with Fritz Bot - 20-10-2006

I was trying to do a server map rotation with Fritz Bot but I don't know where to place the server rotation cfg for execution. In basic Wolfenstein the directory path is in Main, but where should I place the configuration for a map rotation in Frtiz Bot? Thanks in advance.

The readme is your friend.

Thanks a lot. Great work on the mod, by the way, the whole project is excellent. I did everything the guide mentioned, but I can't get it to work. I made a server.cfg and included the rotation in it, but when I start hosting a server it doesn't execute the file. I placed the file in configs in fritzbot, and I tried both including in the existing configs as well as creating a blank configs with only server.cfg in it. I also tried saving server.cfg into configs in the pk3 file. I am at a loss. I am sure it is just a simple oversight on my part, but I can't seem to get it to execute the file.

Be sure to start the game with a modified shortcut:

\Program Files\Return to Castle Wolfenstein\WolfMP.exe" +set fs_game fritzbot +exec server.cfg

This tells it to start fritzbot and execute the server.cfg. You can place the server config in either the fritzbot folder or the main folder.

If you used the server config from gameadmins, you will see a couple lines in it for the rotation:

// Start the Game Map
exec maps.cfg
vstr e01

So you will need the maps.cfg file to either be in the fritzbot folder or the main folder as well.

Okay, that works. But how do I host it over the internet? I looked in the Readme file but couldn't find anything.

Allow me to clarify what I meant. I know how to broadcast it over the internet, but how can I get it to automatically broadcast over the internet using the short cut whenever I click on the short cut? Presently it just takes me to a non-dedicated server.

And if that is not possible, is there a way to make it so that I can just connect to a server that is already broadcasting on the internet by way of a short cut? Say I start my server and broadcast it over the internet. Once I am back to my desktop where I can see the console window, can I make it so there is a way for me to just click on a short cut and voila be in my internet-based server?

Add +set dedicated 2 to your shortcut for a dedicated server that announces itself to the master servers:

\Program Files\Return to Castle Wolfenstein\WolfMP.exe" +set fs_game fritzbot +set dedicated 2 +exec server.cfg

set dedicated 1 will make it a lan server (not announced to master servers)

Once you start it, you will see just a console.

If you want to connect automatically to your server, create a seperate shortcut and add +connect <Server IP>. So if your servers IP is 192.168.1.101, the seperate shortcut would be something like this:

\Program Files\Return to Castle Wolfenstein\WolfMP.exe" +connect 192.168.1.101
