Default looking for some help with a new mod! - 21-01-2005

Hello Bots United!

I’m looking at creating a mod for Counter-Strike source. Now what brings me here is that the primary function of this mod will be based on bots. Not the normal fighting bots but civilian bots, I want to bring civilians into the counterstrike environment, i think this could bring a really exciting new challenge to bot programmers, the mod is called Human Behavior. Here are afew details.

I have attached a poster

So if anyone is interested in taking on this challenge that would be great!!
reply or drop me a email.

regards

Human Behavior is a counter-strike mod that introduces a level of reality not before seen. With the release of the Source engine counter-strike has undergone a huge graphic transformation, but the immersive feel, the emotion and environment has changed very little. Human Behavior will introduce an element that is clearly missing from the counter-strike environment – civilians. The civilians will react to the goings on around them, they will run scared from gun fire, scream when shot and even call for help while lying there bleeding. They will react differently for each scenario they are placed in, helping create the true tension of a battle field.

Interesting idea, adding mobile human shields around the level. It wouldn't work on public servers obviously, unless there was an auto-kick after "x" civie kills, but in small games over LANs this could be a pretty good addition.

Do you have any AI programming skills, or are you looking to entirely get someone else to code it?

yeah, well the idea is that if a ct shoots a "civie" then they losse $$ and if a t shoots one the ct's get more $$, the idea that the more damage the t's do the more funding the ct's get. Another idea is that if someone kills X number, the civie's turn on him and kill the player, thats more of a fun idea, don't know if it work to well...

well, we went around the same ideas here too. Have you checked the discussions we had a few months ago in the "Obsession Software Ltd." forum ?

I'm taking note of this, anyway
