Default Joebot with CS 1.6 ? - 17-01-2004

Hello,

I was using Joebot 1.6.3 with CS 1.5 on Linux.
I found it very useful to test new mods, to train....

I am now upgrading to CS 1.6 with Steam.

When hlds_i686 starts with Joebots, it does a segmentation fault.
I start Joebot the usual way:
hlds_run ... +localinfo mm_gamedll joebot/joebot163.so

Is there a way to have Joebot working with CS 1.6 ????
Else, what other efficient bots are available for CS 1.6 under Linux ?

Thx for your help

cruft, another developer from sourceforge who works on joebot, said he works on a metamod conversion for joebot

And TurtleRocker said that the next Steam update would fix the problems with the FL_FAKECLIENT flag that prevented bots to run in CS 1.6, so hopefully soon all the old bots will be able to run in 1.6 again.

Just to verify.....if joebot doesn't work with steam is it ok that after editing the liblist & target that the server still loads without errors? Normally it should crash the server should it not?

it should crash the server as soon as you try to add a joebot into the game, yes...

But perhaps Steam has already been updated to fix this error ? If this is the case, then now all the bots should be working with Steam.

Thing is, when I use the addbot command in console, no bots join.

Then the bot is not correctly installed. Do you see the bot DLL's welcome message in the console ?

No. I have the joebot folder in my hlserver folder, the +localinfo line added to the target. What's missing?
