Default Note - 12-02-2004

Note to all council members:

As you may have noticed is that i have been here for only a few minutes (5 or 10) and then already left the forums. I probably did not add to much of the latest discussions as i used to neither did i had time to reply on my own forum topics all the time.

Study started a new project and the first week(s) are tough, i do visit the forums as guest from school too so i am not vanished. Just to let you know i am here from time to time.

About coding; i have lend my source to a Linux guy which i trust, he fixed tons of Linux specific bugs in the past and now he fixed some naughty bugs which MSVC allows. I will change back this FL_FAKECLIENT shit and try it out. I must say i am getting very annoyed by these STEAM changes. I wonder if they are EVER tested with the new bots on BU. Are we taken seriously!?

no, we arent, since they havnt realized yet, that we contribute a big part to the popularity of Halflife and some mods in special ... steam shall be a nice money making machine. some idealist which spent years of free time to code something are often not very interested in money, otherwise they wouldnt have done all that stuff ... so they are not interesting for a project like steam and all the shit that comes with it

maybe we should really ask them to sponsor a bot dev meeting ;D

hmm don't know if, but we must keep trying.
for the linux code stuf i'm glad to hear that :-)

for the steam changes, well i read the valve forums, a lot of ppl. are pissed, but this change atleast was done with good intentions (fix 3rd party bots). and they have trouble with a lott of leaks, not only in memmory, none the less we should perhaps consider a sort of open letter to them asking them to consider the one way information (B.U. -> Valve), as a starting point to getting both parts better coordinated.

This is a very good idea memed.

I take this to the Agora. No objections ?
