Default Entnum Issues - 05-01-2007

Hello. I am trying to set up a capture flag action for a flag in mp_cannon, but am having trouble finding the entnum of 575 and dist of 335 as indicated in the waypointing guide by Denny. Any takers? I have node flags set to 4, node radius 25, action radius 70. Thanks in advance.

The entnum 575 dist 335 given in the tutorial is just an example of /viewent output. You will see something different. Approach the flag look directly at it , open the console then type /viewent. The console should then give a result and on one line the words team_WOLF_checkpoint may appear. if it does then the value after entnum is the value you need for the action and node in the waypoint.
If you have trouble finding it you can also look for it in hobbits waypoint tool bsp reader provided the map does not have a custom script file. For some things /configstrings can be an alternate as well.

Also as helpful aside - its often better to bind the viewent cmd to a key, so that you can trigger it at will.

As for trouble viewing it, sometimes you have to wiggle your cursor around the general area of the flag a little, and just keep trying until you get a positive hit. I've never been unable to find a entitys number in the game using viewent yet.
