I was just wondering if you guys are actually serious about this or if you just want to talk. Could we please get an update?

Seeing as there is no development on the UBOT aswell and everyone but me is busy...I don't think so

I believe it's safe to say that both projects are temporarily dead, although resurrectable at any time.

I agree with PMB, being able to work on this, suggests we have a LOT of free time to spare.. something which generally isn't the case at the moment

but 2048 might be possible, some of us will then have retired, and maybe we'll have some time then among taking care of our grandchildren

I've wanted to make my own game for a good deal of time now (using opengl, basically because it'll run on just about anything these days, especially with mesa3d), and have actually begun making a level editor towards that end (just for kicks basically - it's heading towards a bsp and terrain editor). I want to make a game reminiscent of good old Space Hulk (I found the atmosphere awsome), but an engine capable of whatever (hence bsp & terrain in the one editor).
Of course Space Hulk was entirely in-doors, and there are plenty of bsp editors out there that work fine.
If people want to make maps, models, textures, etc, I'll put my own editor on hold and start on the game in ernest (the graphics and general "behind the scenes" stuff I can do, but really don't have any experience with A.I and sound).
If people don't like it...well, feel free to tell me, I'll just keep plugging away at it in my own time (I don't have heaps of free time right now, but in just over a month I will).
And yes, I know I'm a "nobody", but everybody has to start somewhere!
