Default sth about bots in Goldrush - 27-07-2006

first of all, the bots' work in this map is fantastic, very impressive. i played with bos in this Goldrush map for several times, and noticed sth funny. as everybody knows, near the second tank barrier there is a machine gun in the small yard. i notice, when the tank's stopped at the second tank barrier, the allieds seem to prefer the shortest way(down stairs) to reach the tank. and this gives me a very good chance to use the machine gun to shoot them one by one very easily. the allieds keep going that way and get killed again and again. well, i think, if the allieds get stuck long enough or encounter heavy defense somewhere, why can't they change their original route? that's more reasonable in real players. the same thing happens in the battery map.

since the bots don't really remember where they were last killed IMO the 2 ways around this are
1) a route at the door near the first tank barrier to induce them to go far enough over the bridge that they don't backtrack
or
2) A panzer camp on the bridge targeted at the mg42 nest in a group that is disabled when the 2nd tank barrier is blown.
Given the limited number etc for routes I would go with the panzer camp.
Anyway its CrapShoot's map so it will be up to him to address.

.one Ringstellung to rule them all.
