I have set up a server (ip 62.166.3.191) it has realbot (wip 2049) running on it with 10 bots, there is place for two humans.
don't know if my internet connection is going to pull it , but until end januari it is the best i'v got.
There is a two map rotation cs_assault and de_aztec.
if there are any problems please let me know, and have fun.
EDIT: changed map cs_assault to de_dust
EDIT 2: wip version 2053
I have found that a 128K BITS/SEC UPLOAD can handle 4-6 humans on the server just fine. 128K is the normal upload for DSL and cable.
Only 10bots? Yes many map creators only put in 10 spawn points per side unfortunately.
I need to come up with a way to share my updated maps that allow for up to 28 players/bots per side in every map. HL is still limited to 32 players max in the game, but you can have 28 bots against 4 humans!
Post a poll/request in the administrative forum and ask the Council if we can host your maps... after all, it's a little democracy here, you can propose anything you want
RACC home - Bots-United: beer, babies & bots (especially the latter) "Learn to think by yourself, else others will do it for you."
Sure I can offer my maps. I spent a lot of time getting them to support 28 bots / per side in every map.
I can simply send the bsp and the end user can replace their bsp and they are good to go, but a better solution would be to write an application that would include the bsp tools stuff (ripent) where I could jsut send the changed ent files which are quite small. The application would have an easy way to apply the ent files and a way to revert the maps back to the original.
Let me know and I will upload at least the maps for now.
I have all the main ones and a lot of popular non-standard ones.
UPDATE:
Got a dsl speed update today (from 384/128 to 1024/320 with no extra cost)
so have changed the number of bots to 12 and max player to 18, mabye more but i have to see how this goes first.
PS. can a moderator remove the (test) in the topic title? thx.
