I move this thread to the "other games SDK"... it belongs there.

I think botman has some experience with Halo. Maybe him could tell you more about it.

Making a "true" bot for Halo (Xbox) or Halo PC is not possible as the engine doesn't support fake players.

The engine DOES support spawning AI monsters (from the single player game) in multiplayer, but there are some limitations (like they won't respawn when killed, etc).

Search on the www.halomods.com forum for "bots" and you'll find plenty of information (although a LOT of it is incorrect information because 99% of the people on that forum have no idea what they are talking about).

Where can you even download the Halo SDK? They actually released the Halo source?

Heyyo,

*sniffles* it's true.. no fakeclient support. Ti's a sad day in HaloCE gaming. That would've made HaloCE huge.

Now, by source, it's the HEK (Halo Editing Kit). You can download it from any major filetransfer site like www.fileplanet.com www.filefront.com www.fileshack.com www.3dgamers.com

Yeah, some maps come with built in AI that respawns n' stuff... but they're not properly synced (well, the ones I played they weren't) so that kindof sucks..

There's a mod currently in the makings that they claim to be making HaloPC coop dreams come true.. I'm pretty excited for this mod. They're gonna be making some new campaigns n' mp mods. The mod's name? HaloSE (Special Edition) www.geocities.com/halo_specialedition right now this project's hitting a bump (firing of a member.. turning out a little nasty..) so hopefully it gets back on track soon.

Another great mod for HaloCE is that Halo2CE. It's Zanzibar and Mobsaba but for PC! they turned out pretty sweet.. but... but... the pistol's lame like Halo2. oh well, fun none the less http://www.halo2ce.epgservers.com/index/

Another great map's coming out soon. It's gonna be called "Hypothermia." Blue team will be elites, and red team will be the spartans. It's another Halo2-ish mod for HaloCE, so that should be good.. er... just google this one.

Btw? best place to get maps n' stuff? www.halomaps.co.uk MuffMeister runs a good HaloCE site. If you host a HaloCE server make sure you use the Delagginator!
