This forum may be my last hope in finding a solution to my question

I made waypoints for the map de_firefight, but the map has an explosive box that blows up the floor below it. This leaves waypoints floating in mid-air.

Does anybody think it's possible to make a script that can avoid these waypoints?

Could PodBot correlate with the game itself to know that the explosive box has been destroyed? This is one thing, but another issue would be whether or not a waypoint can be avoided at all.

In my head it sounds like something that would only take 3 lines of coding.
1. Locating a model file
2. if it's not there, deny access to specific waypoints
3. Otherwise, proceed with no changes.

PodBot is quite advanced as it is, but I am probably expecting too much of it

Thanks for any help.

You can just delete manually these waypoints, if You don't wish to have them there. I believe You are using the authowaypointing function to cover the map quickly. If the waypoints are somehwere - the bot believes it can go there (so it is not checking if the waypoint is in mid-air or on the ground while choosing the path).

Depending on how big the hole is from the exploded floor, bots might be able to jump over it and it is possible to allow bots to hug the wall to reach and make their way around the missing section of floor.

If this place is neccessary in completeing the goal, then waypoint it, otherwise I recomend avoiding the section you mentioned.

Thanks for the feedback.

It's an overpass with a bomb site on it. When the explosives are shot at, it destroys the platform into a skinny path-way that wraps around the area. Fortunately I was able to modify the waypoints to move around the path.

The platform is basically just two non-waypointed areas. The bots just won't know a human opponent is standing in those areas, but I don't think it is a big issue. Obviously it's not the wisest place to wait anyways because if the explosives don't kill you, the fall probably will.

I observed a test run of the bots and the CT have been able to defuse the bomb at that site. Before they would just randomly walk off the edge trying to get there..

Whenever I get the chance to play CS with my friends, I'll drop a line about the performance of the map.

If you need some waypoint modifications to the map, drop me a PM and the map download with a download of the waypoints.

But it seems to me that you have vanquished the problem.
