Default Humble request - 10-07-2006

Hi everyone. I posted here a few times in the last year, not had a lot of problems with bots in general, thanks to this forum.

Im using a modified gravebot dll, and it works well. No real problems with it. It's not a public release, someone did it for themself and shared it with me.

I havent been able to contact the coder who modded the gravebot (He added random jumps and morphed the aimbot (makes them miss like humans) plugin into the code.

I am not a coder, and am just a lowly server admin and host for HLDS. My son codes in small and writed amxx plugins but he said he doesnt know C++ so he cant really help me.

Would someone be willing to look into my dll and see if you can add a function to the bots? I would love to see them grab the long jump modules and do random long jumps.
That would be incredibly unique for a bot.
Also the code was altered to autopriotitize bot weapon choosing. I dont like that and need it taken back out and have weapons handling point to the cfg file for the weapons priority.

I am a little nervous about asking for help with a modded mod, and I know you all are busy already. But any help would be great.

By the way, my server is "themed". My son wrote a plugin that allows me to specify which bots spawn on certain maps. So, old western town maps get cowboy bots, castle type maps get knights in shining armor, etc etc. It's cool.

If you would like to see these bots in action, go to:

I did notice the bots pick up long jump modules when I was playing last night.

It seems to me that all that is needed is a random crouch command inserted into the code. They already do random regular jumps which makes them appear a little more human that a standard bot.

A bot doing a long jump would freak out the other players.

If Im out of my mind and this isnt feasable, please tell me and Ill move on.
(That kind of feedback is also helpful because Im all excited about the idea, and have been checking in here 15 times a day hoping for a reply.)

Before we give this "Humble Request" the bullet of Mercy , I would say:
Intelliq , try messing around with the pfnRunPlayerMove() fucntion
and that's it........
