ehm , ehm
As you folks can see this is one of those almost if not already dead forums , which I'ven't posted in them yet and which I've absolutely no idea what they are good for!
so in order to clearify my rhethorical question "what are scripts good for?" I could say :
who does need permission from the engine to mess with it (under the hood) if you can take out almost all of the engine by using an intermediary mod dll and installing whatever code you want ?
possible answer : probably someone who's ignorant to C++ , LOL
You ask question before you to check out by yourself. Speacially the AMX/X scripting is the one of the most easy ways of modding HL mods. You have all the functions ready, you just need to use them directly and to tell them what to do - i.e. minimum coding and good results. The AMX/X scripting languarge is "Small C" or now its new name "Pawn". Its C like languarge so its easy for already C/C++ coders to go in it.
Hehe , same old storm ain't gonna change , lol
Well of course I know scripts , but asking questions isn't always for the purpose of knowledge gaining !
probably you have skipped the word rhetorical , which can come in a skeptical , critical or even sarcastic essence....
but anyways!.....maybe I'm too old fashioned or probably too advanced(?) to use scripts ......or maybe because C++ is already to easy for me , LOL
