I use PodBot v3 on my 1.6 server that I rent from Nuclearfallout.
They have always worked, it did take a while to cull all the maps that didn't support them but in the end it was well worth it.

I favor Podbot MM, however, YaPB and e[POD]Bot are very good choices and worth having on hand for extra challenges.

For other Half-Life mods, I recomend RCBot.

For DoD, I personally like Sturmbot.
Don't ignore ShrikeBot, it is also very good even though both dod bots are dated.

Check out the these servers, they're running 2 different types of bots.
1 of them has PodBot MM, the other has ZBots.

Of course, i would say use RealBot. But then again, Pod has been maintained for much longer, and i haven't done an official release with my improvements yet, so until then have fun with POD

Yeah - You have a lot of to do:
a) darkness and invisibility check,
b) lift support,
c) button (doors/light-switches, lift) support,
d) ChickenMod, Zombie Mods and CSDM support (normal and item mode),
e) better shield support,
f) optimizing CPU usage

When You have it done, You can probably steal me some funs.
