I don't think it will be that easy; if somehow a CSS bot can be created most players won't care (there is a built-in bot that works for them, why bother? )

Also, again, we're too focussed on HL, and the Source engine with its mods. Why keeping things so narrow?

I don't say we should not investigate HL2 bot development further; but i think we should both.

I see the object is to have many different types of bots, like a bot central or bot zone / bots-united. What ever works at the time should be done at that time.

I know botman has been with Gearbox, maybe he can help with a Brothers in Arms bot? or maybe an Unreal bot? if they don't already have them built in.

The right influence at the right time, can make all the difference in the world.

G-man is that you?

I have just revived my game pc, it still works and can run CSS smooth and such. I even discovered i had some old css bot source (you know the crappy one).

Anyhow, i agree with you Ancient, totally.

I've got a reply from the Author of the Hurricane Bot (HL2 DM bot)

Quote:
Hello Stefan.

Thanks for the invitation to participate to the Bot United forums. ^_^ The bot has been put on standby for a while (time is always a big issue) but be sure I'll come when I'll get time for the bot(s) again.

Regards,

Eric
This makes me think btw, we should have a 'promote BU' thread where we can centralize this stuff...

I think stefan had some very good points. The main page http://www.bots-united.com currently contain essentially no useful information for visitors, and a better portal (which contains e.g., a unified news releasing system) may be of great help.

the old botepidemic site can also be a reference:
