Is there still many differences between a Mac and a high-end PC except the operating system?
anyways I'm still happy with an old PC with Debian GNU/Linux without worrying about viruses/crashing and can do every job I want to, don't think I'll have the money or necessity to buy a Mac
seen the ads before.. and as i said in another forum.. the adds or full of shit..
ive used mac even though i use PC more.. i worked on both of them with video and all.. right now im working on a pc with 2 gigz of ram with high res video editing for SAAB US automobiles. and guess.. not a bluescreen or restart for severaldays. yes when someone is not working on it its connected to the renderfarm.
the commercials are full of rubbish, but the mass of people will take it as truth and buy macs. the thing is no matter what computer you have, if it only has256 ram and a 1.x processer its gonna be a piece of shit. I see all these people see these dell computer adds. PC with dvd burner and monitor for $499! all these people flock to dell.com "oooh, it has a dvd burner it must be good." I am a comp tech, and half the things i fix is "My computer is slow." "What kind of pc is it?" "i dont know why its slow, its a dell!" I want to punch these people in the face.
I have worked on my fair share of macs, and alot of them--crash unexpectedly. You need a good mac with some ram, and then you can do some vid editing and etc. other than that i would stick with my custom built pcs.
I see no reason to use a Mac. You can get all of that stuff on a PC and use it for more. The hardware would cost less, too.
As for that ad with the 'digital camera', that is like the exact opposite of the truth. Way more things work with a PC than a Mac, and since they switched platforms, even less work on a Mac.
I even heard in another stupid mac ad on the tv that apple is gonna integrate intel CPU's into mac , hehe!
I actually I wonder HOW bad must be mac , that apple decided to put a CPU into it from a rival company ???
and How much MAC -in percentage- is gonna be left in a mac ???? (95% Intel 5% MAC??)
Mark my words friends , After a couple of years from now , apple will finally retreat from the computer industry like Motorola in the 80's....I think apple should be happy that their I-pod found a place in the market hehehe
