well...I don't know, but other games work fine. Even ut2004 runs on a good speed(which uses linux emulation aswell). FreeBSD's kernel has its own AGP stuff(like linux), when I start X I see a message that nvidia doesn't use its own AGP code because FreeBSD's one is active.
sysctl doesn't know any 'machdep.allowaperture', so I'm not sure if it exists for fbsd.
Thanks anyway
I'll try it when I'm on linux, game looks good

OK played the game on ubuntu...works fine
Guess its some driver issue or something.
This game is pretty cool, pretty cool weapons(UT stylish) and online playing felt like LAN playing.

Disabling "Bloom" seems to help, also the SDL variant runs faster for me.

Night at the Office

HL1 mod just released. Haven't tried it yet, but you play as a rent-a-cop fighting terrorists that have taken over your office building. I'd download it right now and try it, but I don't feel like fighting Steam right now.

there is also a game like this in M$ DirectX 8.1 SDK, as an example and with the source code available. But I'm not sure if I can share it anyway so I won't

played Night @ the Office today, was pretty impressed. A very good mod. Apart from the terrorists' voices (a disaster) and one or two glitches here and there, a very consistent mod, good storyline, excellent ambience. I advise you to play it at hard level from the start and without the crosshairs. Beware, you cannot restore your health in this game and the ammo is rare.

One bug though, when getting down to floor 4 I fell through a ceiling into a small room where I can see my barney placeholder through an unbreakable glass, there's a radio message going on and he asks me to follow him except that I can't in hell figure out how to get out of my room. Had to turn noclip on to get through the door. Maybe I missed something here. Nevertheless, a great SP mod. A tad short perhaps.
