Hangfire's game is uber slow on my computer.... odd?
Very, but then its also odd that it crashes my PC frequently. Google didn't help, and the developer is Japanese so getting tech support from them won't help.
Pros:
- it's completely free software, sources to all the maps are available and all the game contents and engine code are under GPL
- Game media files are in Quake3 format, the mod code is QuakeC
- With bots
- Can be run under GNU/Linux, MacOS and Windows
Cons:
- Runs too slow on my computer
- QuakeC is still too limited

Cool
SDL binary seems to run faster than the glx. However...the game couldn't load any textures on freebsd Maybe something todo with the linux emulation.
Don't know if it's the same in FreeBSD but in OpenBSD the AGP aperture is limited by default as part of the security policy. Users wanting to get the most of their AGP card can set machdep.allowaperture=1 in the kernel configuration (no need to recompile, you can configure the BSD kernel on the fly).
