Uh oh! Does he run a dedicated server? If so, it's a dedicated server issue. Dedicated Servers don't like modified core RTCW files at all, we use those wolfanim.script files to update the player animations for the axis and allies. You could delete them (or choose not to run a dedicated server) but the 3rd person player animations are gonna be pretty awful.

I'll look into it further, i don't run dedicated so i never noticed those kinds of things and when i try to run dedicated RTCW locks up so i never noticed. Sorry about that.

Is bindlestiff have the latest version on his server yet?

See if you have the issue when both of you get the latest (as in just right now re-released) patch, re-install it, and see if there are any issues.

Also, see if running in sv_pure 0 helps.

He has pure server set to 0, and he runs with 053 with no problems. It seems to be some error for me. I used a linux text editor to look at the wolfanim.script file on line 20, it reads:

set weapons machineguns = MP40 AND Thompson AND Sten AND Flamethrower AND venom AND panzerfaust AND fg42 AND fg42 scope

why wont it work ?

It does, but as i said if he's running a dedicated server what i mentioned above could be the case. We've been having all kinds of dedicated server issues during the process of adding the FG42, i thought this one would be alright but that may not be the case. As i said though i can't start a dedicated server even so i never could find out.

From what I remember, he is running a non-dedicated server.

Try setting sv_allowdownloads 1 on the server side and cl_allowdownloads 1 on the client side.

Then try setting sv_pure to 1 if 0 isn't working after that.

IRT Denny: I haven't had any problems with my dedicated server and the fg42.

Okay cool, so it isn't a dedicated server problem, thanks for letting me know CrapShoot. I'd try what CrapShoot suggested. I haven't been having any problems like that either so it's probably something server side, punkbuster maybe.

I have seta sv_allowdownload "1" in my server.cfg and have removed the "+dedicated 0" from my command line.

Sv_pure is set to "0" on the command line, which I thought was required for Fritzbot.

And I have PunkBuster disabled.

We intend to run Fritzbot on a dedicated rental server real soon -- hopefully 0.53 will allow us to do that!

I just sent a pm to renart with my server information to see if he can connect. I think that sv_pure 1 is going to be required for dedicated servers (and possibly non-dedicated now).

I made the attempt to connect to Crapshoot's server, with the same results. I think the error is on my end.
