"Also, where do I put the waypoint files?"

There is a "HPB_bot_ReadMe.txt" file in the Half-Life\HPB_bot directory. Read that CAREFULLY before asking questions.

"Is there a better forum than this?"

By "better" do you mean "other"? If so, then no, there isn't any other HPB bot specific forum.

I find the bots move "strangely" on our servers, it's like they have lag or high ping and move then suddenly move quickly to another position, any ideas how we can fix this. Btw I have waypoints running.

The movement should depend on the framerate of the server. Most servers (that aren't 100% CPU bound) will have a 60Hz framerate.

If your client has high latency to the server (which you say you don't have), bots and other players should all appear to have the same jerky behavior.

Perhaps your server is CPU bound and doesn't have enough spare CPU cycles to keep things moving smoothly. Have you tried running any performance stats on your server to see what the idle CPU time is?

THe server is 2 x 2Ghz Xeons with a 1.5Gigs of memory, it's hardly doing anything, all the players run very smoothly and they say that the bot moves in a laggy way too, but all agree that everyone is running smoothly and all have around a 50 ping.....

Disable WinHL-Booster. This plugin does nothing but screwing everything up. All it does is skipping game frames to make players believe they have a better ping, but in fact all the physics computations are made wrong and the bots can't think properly if you make them skip frames.

Right that worked, thanks, however, I still can't get a bot to start automatically. If I type HPB_Bot addbot then one is added. I use a dedicated server and this is my HBP_Bot.cfg file (part if it): What do you think?

pause 3

botskill 2

min_bots 1
max_bots 2
bot_chat_percent 10
bot_taunt_percent 20
bot_whine_percent 10
bot_chat_tag_percent 80
bot_chat_drop_percent 10
bot_chat_swap_percent 10
bot_chat_lower_percent 50
bot_logo_percent 40
bot_reaction_time 2
random_color 1
# add 6 bots using the default skill level (a random skin will be chosen)
bot_strafe_percent 10
HPB_Bot "addbot"

bot_strafe_percent 20
HPB_Bot "addbot"

I believe there is no need to put HPB_Bot commands in the bot config file, since the bot config file is read by the bot itself and not the game DLL. Hence you can try something like this:
-----------------------------
#add 6 bots using the default skill level (a random skin will be chosen)
bot_strafe_percent 10
addbot

bot_strafe_percent 20
addbot
----------------------------
This should add you 2 bots in game. The "HPB_Bot" prefix is only needed when you type commands in the server console, not in the config file.

Still nothing, I can only type HPB_Bot addbot in the server console or on the game via the rcon to add a bot.

You have to wait, though, because with the HPB_bot there is a 60 seconds delay on dedicated servers before bots join. This is to give real clients enough time to enter the game after a mapchange.

What could it be, I got nothing after 60 seconds, can I post any info for you?
