The plugins.ini file should be in the cstrike/addons/metamod/ folder.

Guys,

I got the realbots to load on win32 ds, and of course that took two days due to my stubbornness (to get them working with AMX) and experimentation. I can train the bots each new map, and they do kick ass, but I'm wondering what I did wrong as far as the bots making their nodes? I thought they were supposed to save the info to:

addons/realbot/data/cstrike/bots . When I look in there, there is no data saved.

Do I need to path that somehow? How can I tell the bots that the directory is under my hlserver dir instead of a retail version's path? I put it in the env-variables. But it made no change. Also the naming has to be done manually by me when I add them. I know it's something simple I overlooked. Not being able to access the rb_names.txt, saving data, and AI modules. The first version of RealBot had the same issues. That was back (a few days) when I had to use the rbds addbot commands to get the bots to join.

These guys kick ass other than having to buy the weapons and toss them to the bots.

The one thing I haven't tried is let the install place the files in a 'generic' type install of Retail cstrike and let the files be placed in c:\halflife\.... dir structure.
Then I would just need to call the plugin from that location, correct? I killed the linux server that was running for two years, converted to win32 (ackkk) just so I can use RealBots, and I intend to get them working, lol, somehow. I refuse to give up... (besides they are my true friends).

Patiently awaiting for perfection...

You should use the generic install path, this is where rb saves the nodes. Create the following directories:

(assuming your main path is at : c:\program files\steam\steamapps\counter-strike (for CS 1.6) OR, c:\program files\half-life (FOR CS 1.5))

realbot
realbot\dll
realbot\data
realbot\data\cstrike\
realbot\data\cstrike\maps
realbot\data\cstrike\exp
realbot\data\cstrike\bots

put the realbot_mm.dll in realbot\dll

make plugins.ini refer to:

../realbot/dll/realbot_mm.dll
