Dave Gnukem is a 2D scrolling platform shooter. It is inspired by and similar to Duke Nukem 1, one of my all-time favourite games. It currently runs on Windows, Linux and BeOS.

Funny shooting game.. as soon as you die you lose all your weapons.. but you rather wanne use the big weapons later.. the bow is alright.. grenades are deadly

The aim of Adonthell is the creation of a 2D, graphical, single player role playing game and the required engine.

Main emphasis of the game lies on good gameplay rather than on realism; it will be a well-balanced mixture of fast-paced realtime combat, head-cracking puzzle elements and extensive dialogues.

The engine core is written in C++, but highly customizable through the embedded Python interpreter. Engine and game data are strictly separated to allow the creation of completely different RPGs with the same engine.

While we work on completing the engine, we will release fully playable demo games from time to time, that make use of the available engine functionality.

Narcissu

Some sort of visual-novel type thing. I'm not really sure how to decribe it, its not really a game. I highly reccomend it if you don't mind reading a lot. Kind of a depressing story but still enjoyable.



Surpised me that it was good, when I downloaded it had no idea what this was, I just grabbed on a whim because it was reccommended to me.

Two things if anyone is going to try it: Don't read too much about it on the website for it, unless you like having plot spoiled badly for you, and also "ingame" to get the menu use the right mouse button.

This game is cool
Some levels are to hard for me though...others are quite fun.

FreeCraft is a clone of the realtime fantasy strategy game WarCraft II from Blizzard Entertainment, although it could be used to build other games similar to C&C or AoE. It is nearly feature complete compared to the original game, and includes a handful of Neat New Features, such as queuing peon/fighter production, finding out idle workers, and a completely new AI. It also has network connectivity for up to 16 players.

The official site (http://sourceforge.net/projects/freecraft) is down as it's killed by Blizzard, but you can search the Debian ftp for the source code and media files:

Note that this is _not_ illegal at all as there are no formal court orders or something like that, and Debian is still distributing this stuff without trouble.
