I mean, what's the point ?
What's the advantage of dropping the normal player control methods in favor of voice rec ?
I just can't tell to the girl "dodge and jump behind the 4th crate on the left below the little window and once you're there stand up, shoot a bullet or two and duck again" ???

The point is that I don't see how a player can 'identify' itself to the avatar it represents through voice commands. I'd get the feeling that I am "commanding" the girl, and not that I "control" her.

What do you think ?

oh i hate the HMI of today, any way to make it better are welcome.

i used IBM ViaVoce some 4 years ago to get rid of the mouse, it worked quite well, i could keep my hands on the keyboard and type in various windows. (i was doing text work an a magazine, even using 10(9) finger typing )

having some 20 commands in voice (additionaly) would help a lot for games, right now i use mouse (3 btn + wheel) and a gamepad (directions and 4 keys) at my hands., i.e. i have those allways in reach, and don't use the keyboard for gaming, unless special functions are needed.

i hate the keyboard for gaming *g*

well .. why voice.. i think its kind cool.. i looked at a trailer.. and it looks like you will steer her alot (movements).. however.. its suppose to give the feel of you being a security guard (or whatever) of some kind.. (played red faction) that sees almost everything.. and with a headset you communicate wíth her and tell her what to do.. i rather have it like the old RPG game where you type all commands.. like.. open door.. walke north path.. roll rag.. break window.. open trash can.. and so on.. so insteed of typing.. say it.. the whole game will recognize 5000 words.. worth a try isnt it?
