well I think there's no precache limit but from what has happened to me.. when I try to precache too much stuff the server crashes..
I think the polycount should be kept below 1000.. or something like that.. can't remember.
I guess that explains why some maps like 'de_odile' crashes a cz server while it runs with no problems in cs1.6. (cz models must require more space from precaching).
FYI maybe cscz models used more poly count but i don't like their skin after turtle rocks got involved in modelling and skinning the models at first their skin looks fancier and more glossy but if you take closer look than it not looked so good as valve skin. Valve models still the best for cs 1.6. Though turtle rocks they refine it on CSS ^_^
