Default Forum deployment plan notification - 02-01-2004

Hi folks

As botman shutting down his forums, I bet we'll soon inheritate of a merry troop of crazy coders in these walls. And since the HL SDK forum was a pretty active one there, it won't get them lost if they find in Bots United a similar layout than the one in our venerable botman's unfortunately defunct YaBB forum. Here's the why.

BUT, I hear a pupil arguing at the other end of the classroom, Bots-United is NOT a Half-Life only forum.

Indeed, good point for you.

That's why, OTHER game-specific development forums will be added on request, for Unreal, Quake III, BF1942, or whatever game for which there is a coder in need of support. That's also why, if you're one of these coders, feel free to ask a Council member and we'll progressively switch to the forum deployment plan described below :
Code:
CODING FORUMS
	 1. Half-Life specific coding
		  1.1 Half-Life SDK coding discussions
		  1.2 Metamod coding discussions
	 2. Unreal specific coding (added on request)
2.1 Unreal SDK coding discussions (example)
		  2.2 Other Unreal coding stuff
	 3. Game X specific coding (added on request)
3.1 Game X SDK coding discussions
		  3.2 etc.
	 4. General bot coding discussions
	 5. C/C++ coding discussions
	 6. Web/Javascript/PHP coding discussions
	 7. Obsession Software Ltd.
This will be the future layout of the forums. It will then cover generic game coding aspects as well as game-specific ones, on a per-game basis. In the meanwhile, we have a precise and immediate need for a HL SDK resource center, that's why this forum is here.

Sounds good to me.
When is botman's site going down?

1. Half-Life specific coding
1.1 Half-Life SDK coding discussions
1.2 Metamod coding discussions

Do we need a specific HL bot coding forum?

I would like to start some REAL HL SDK documentation.
I will setup the document and manage it if anyone is interested in contributing.

"When is botman's site going down?"

My website isn't going down (unless planethalflife.com yanks all the webpages).

The forum at my website was shut down because I don't have the time to keep up with it anymore. The forum is gone. The website stays up.

botman, while you're here, please step in at the mods forum once or two times, we've devised some things that might require your participation (look for the threads with the word "botman in them )
