Hmmm... yes... clientreg.blob... I heard that somewhere... gotta try next time. Custom.hpk as well, huh? NICE hints - hopefully they work for me... next crash, I'll try. (i.e. in about two weeks, I s'pose...
)
Steam Updates are always dangerous for me, but once I got it running, it's actually ok. The last crash was my bad, anyway.
@PMB: For WinXP, I gotta find a way to get my dirty fingers on a pro version that doesn't cost more bucks than Bill Gates deserves kicks up his famous *ss, 'cuz there's no way I'm gonna install that crippled home version. And from what I have heard, it takes some time and effort to reduce the "X.P. phone home" phenomenon... Plus, I don't like the looks. And at least I'm quite virus / trojan / worm-safe with my Neanderthal Windows - it's so pathetic many worms don't even bother attacking it... maybe pity?
Nah, the proggie that crashes most is Steam, and thanks to Onno I know a few more tricks to fix it now... and as long as you remember to reboot as soon as something's wrong, it's actually quite possible to live in the stone age.
