Its not that much different from normal cvs.

But for some strange ass reason my inetd setup is not working (original cvs iwhtout ssl did)

this is my line in inetd.conf:
cvspserver stream tcp nowait cvs /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/local/bin/cvs cvs pserver

Maybe you need to add the allowed CVS root to the command line, at least that was one of the problems I had:

cvspserver stream tcp nowait cvs /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/local/bin/cvs --allow-root=/var/cvs/cvsroot pserver

I assume you checked that the cvs server is running and answering CVS requests...

well yes, it allways works localy, atleast almost allways, it just fails if used via ssh or ssl (cvsnt).

fyi, both Aspirin and i cannot login. I tried my username and also anonymous but both get the this:

CVSROOT=:sserver:stefan@bots-united.com:/home/cvsroot/filebase

cvs checkout: Empty password used - try 'cvs login' with a real password

cvs [checkout aborted]: /home/cvsroot/filebase: no such repository

rofl i think memed got it wrong i have to create your passwords for the cvs access ...
