Default Waypoint Request for Warbell (ET) - 31-03-2007

Hi

i would love to see this Waypointed, dunno if it's hard to waypoint this map, the only thing could be hard is the suicid "action" by the axis to raise the wargod, anyway thx in advance !

Nice map. Wish i had played it before.

IMHO Do-able even with out script file changes but I would suggest using 3 fake entities for better game focus (bell cord, and 2 sacrifices). (For an advanced task think about getting the bots to heal at the chapel). The cave tunnel wall could be removed with barrierRemove 160 but I don't think it is required (confirmed -tested, not needed). Heights and bottomless pits will take a few bots but good pathing should keep that to a minimum (fake brushes should only be used when really necessary). Drawing the bots to the sacrifices and bell cord can be done by limiting the available axis actions to roams, or by routing and fake steals etc. IMO Most of the work is in the strategy, nodes and connections, and testing. So if you would like to give it a go yourself, I will help out. Or you could ask the bindlestiff to take it on after __bridges__ and snatch. Alas myself I really need to get finishing some of what I have already started for the next couple of months.

btw how did you make out on your mlb_temple waypoints?

mhh, ok thx tom

i dunno, currently i've not enough time, too ^^
i've started on it, but not completed the waypoints yet, but the real problem which i would have is the map scripting (if needed) + routing and some of these needed actions.

the mlb_temple waypoints, mmhh i've stopped the work because bindlestiff made waypoints for it, but he waypointed the wrong version of it - temple_final

If you would like I could just do an example for the bell and sacrifice actions using fake entities in the script file (i.e. add the bots after the builds dynos and delivers are completed).

Michelangelo:
This is a rough example of using fake entities to control the late map actions. join as axis or as spectator. Map will run from the beginning but bots will complain as there are almost no non-objective actions for them. feel free to do whatever you want with this work. I will try to answer any questions you have whenever you have time to get in to it.

Not my project and Mich never pm'ed me with any work. Since He has not logged on this summer pm him as a courtesy and if he does not respond in a couple of weeks I say go ahead.

And feel free to use the work I posted as a starting point, it does handle the special needs in the map (though the unreachable fake steals do make the bots look like funny bunnies in a minefield ).

OK 420Blunt pm'd his working waypoints for this one to me and I have not found anything broken in testing. I did some minor cleanup but left the gameplay etc untouched, and added the waypoints (1.00.1) Here for direct download.(until geocities shuts down)

Nedd3h mentioned some map script changes that could be added but I have not tracked down copies of those as yet. McNite did post in the SD forums recently asking for suggestions but it looks like nothing important enough came from that.
