Default Goldrush - 28-06-2006

Well I just got done playing Goldrush from beginning to end and it's almost perfect. I was on Axis one other real on Allied. By the end of the game the Allies had the tank at the barrier going into the courtyard for about the last 5 minutes of the map.

At 1st I thought the Allieds were a little slow trying to get dynamite down. But to be honest with 11 on each side there was a lot lead flying. Not counting the panzers. I don't think I noticed the Allieds trying to come around the back way ala the truck barrier route.

This is still a great map. I've played it with other bots and they never did anywhere near as well as this one. Great Job.

thanks. I think boosted mentioned the allies not using the truck barrier route enough as well. I'll add that.

as for the dynamite planting at the barriers, i'll see what I can do. It seems to me they are more focused on repairing the tank even though it's stuck at the barrier...it might be a little tricky to fix that without a true tank action, but I've got some ideas that i'll try.

I agree the bots will fix the tank before they even look at dynamiting the barrier. Thats not all bad though cause they really need that mg42 on the tank when there are a lot of bots trying to stop them.

likewise my play was very good but when the truck was at the first barrier I think the allied bots played the truck first and the barrier second, while I blasted the hell out of the axis by the tank. So finally I switched to engr did the barrier and the play went well from that point on. I especially liked the axis defense around the second barrier

updated the waypoints. They should be better about planting dynamite at a barrier rather than rebuilding the tank / truck. They should also use the truck barrier route earlier and more often.

There are some limitations to them using the truck route however. If they choose to escort the tank when they spawn, they are going to take the shortest route to it. It's a random thing though, so sometimes alot will head for the tank via the shortest route and sometimes you will see alot coming from the truck barrier route. I guess that's good for less predictability, but without a true tank action, the options for controlling them are limited.

Also included an update to Battery. If they spawn at the far side of the beach, they will always go up the hill towards the back door unless the ramp is built or they are a sniper / panzer.

I think I'll continue to use the fritzPak.pk3 for all the waypoint updates. i think it's easier; especially for those of you running a server. It's better to have clients downloading one file rather than one for each map update.

Fueldump updates will be ready tomorrow.

EDIT: I decided to host the file here

rename the file to have the extension pk3 and place in the fritzbot folder

nooby question: do i only have to rename the file and paste it in my fritzbot folder? thats all? than it works?

an other thing: ive downloaded the fueldump file you made. i renamed it and paste it in my fritzbot folder like you said...then i start playing...first time: i have platend the dynamite at the fuledump (comming through the hole in the wall and planted it at this site) i was there with 2 other engineers and we plantet about 3 or 4 dynamites...suddenly the games feezed and i had to restart my computer!
second time: this time fueldump works without freezing, but this time the game feezed at goldrush (dont know anymore where exactliy it was)
well, after then i delet de file and played again: works without any prolems...now my question: was this only by any chance? <- hope this is the correct word

well, i will try it again and hope that the game dont freeze

Is it ok that the new file you made doesn't include the battery.aiscript in it? Is the game just running on the one in the main Fritz pak?

irt Mase:

yes, just what it says. rename and put in the fritz folder.

irt vlvttch:

only the nav file was updated, so no need to include the aiscript
