Default Shut down delay under Win XP - 11-04-2005

Is there a way to delay a bit shut down of the system Win XP? I mean the situation when the system got info from hardrive's cache (data is written succesfully), but realy isn't 100% written on HD and after re-boot chdsk is starting and is repairing some files not correctly written to HD during to fast (I believ) system shut down.
Is there any key in some registry or something? I thought it has been fixed in SP2 (I'm using this one), but I may be wrong.

I recall Windows Me had this problem, but they fixed it long ago with a patch I saw on the windowsupdate web site. Does this really occur to you ?

Yep..
Everytime I'm installing something (even some windows update) - it seems the system shuts up too fast, and next re-boot means start chkdsk...It's annoying...

check your bios settings during boot up, in the power management area might not be set up correctly hence powering down incorrectly, which seems similar to the pc not shutting down itself, so i guess you may have a setting wrong in your bios.
There are reg keys like waittokillapp is one i think but this should not have changed unless you install some program that claims to "boost" your pc.
