Podbot2.6mm problems loading more than one map -
29-09-2004
I have a problem with podbot2.6mm and it hasn't happened in the old Podbots2.5. After I start up a lan game, disconnect, and select another map, after it loads I stay as a spectator, there are no menus to start, I'm the only player, I can only move very slowly, and the round doesn't begin. The only way I can play again is by quitting the game and restarting Counter-Strike and create another lan game so I can only load one map every time I start CS. I think it's a big waste of time to have to do all that everytime I'm loading the second map so can you please tell me what to do or if you are going to provide a patch, or if in the next version it will be fixed. Thanks!

I know that happens if you set maxplayers to 1
can you provide more info please?
[edit]
also you can just pull down the console and type in "map <name of map>" to change maps..

Re: Podbot2.6mm problems loading more than one map -

After I start a lan game, then connect to a map, disconnect because I want to try another map, after the map finishes loading, there's no menu to press ok, you just look at the map, when I press tab there only a spectator list and I'm the only one and usually when you join a server it doesn't pause for a long time and immediatley shows the menu. Then you click ok, choose your team which is CT, T, or spectator. It works fine the first lan game I start but the only way to load another map which works is to quit the CS executable and restart and that takes really long and no, I haven't set the maximum players to 1, it's at 8, the default number so I don't that is causing the problem. Can you please just provide a patch or new version to fix this or if you can't just tell me what to do to fix this problem.

I have Counter-Strike version 1.1.1.1 and my addons are metamod, podbot, and cheating-death. Not sure, what version of Cheating-death I have though, I have podbot 2.5 and podbot2.6mm which is a plugin for metamod and I'm loading the podbotbeta dll so that might be the problem since it's a beta. I think some maps, textures, and waypoints probably have damaged my CS and some maps just exit out for no reason but that hasn't happened with podbot2.6mm, just podbot 2.5 and I think you need to improve the bots abilities because sometimes when the bots see each other they don't even shoot and then walk away from each other. Will you fix that in the next version of Podbot2.6mm or something? I also got the new hl and sw.dlls so I can see the new transparent textures of 1.6 and palmtree.mdl. I have the latest version of Metamod.

well first off you get all those problems with pb2.5 because pb2.5 does NOT support cs1.6 at all...
try loading only podbot 2.6mm and see if that works.. also give me what it tells you when you type "meta list" in teh console.

First off - You don't have disconnect to load the new map. There is a command available to change map without disconnecting You and players currently connected to Your server. The command's name is "changelevel". Usage - type in console:
changelevel map_name
for example
changelevel cs_militia
I hope this solution will save Your time a bit...

Second off - there is not CS 1.1.1.1. This number with four digits it's probably HL (halflife) version number. The correct CS version number is 1.5 or 1.6 (I guess You don'y use some older version). This 1.1.1.1 seems for me like old HL (so with CS1.5 version). But let us know by more exactly description, what do You have. If You have CS1.6 with Steam or non-Steam version maybe, or this is CS1.5 with HL version 1111. Also type in console (like sPlOtYgOn suggested You):
meta list
and let us know what do You see.
About this "since it's beta" - You have to know this beta is much more stable, better and more advanced in coding than official release R2.1. We recommend You and all people to use always the latest beta. Only linux based systems have some trouble with latest beta (and whole some betas) but we are trying to narrow the source of the problem. I want after this linux fix create some new official release with docs and waypoints and bot dll and replace finally the current official release.
[EDIT]
This 1.1.1.1 could be also some number of retail CS version (without separate halflife). I don't know if You have the latest upgrade installed to it.
[/EDIT]

the 1.1.1.1 is hl engine version for cs 1.6
1.1.1.0 hl engine is for cs 1.5 or 1.0.0.5

I want to choose maps the manual way without typing changemap or anything like that and anyways I have a lot of custom and official maps and it's hard to remember them all and you can't adjust settings if you are ingame. I run CS version 1.1.1.1 on Cs1.5 and you can get the 1.1.1.1 update on steamless project. Nothing happens when I type in meta list and my console doesn't work when I hit the button.

perhaps you didn't bind it..
there is no cs v1.1.1.1...
you are running cs 1.6 on hl engine 1.1.1.0..
get that straight..
now that you have said that.. you are using something illegal and we cannot support it and also podbot does not cause this problem.. go to those steamless forums and tell them to fix it..
